Kallas: Ukraine is Europe's priority and lesson to learn from

Ukraine is Europe's top priority, and European countries are committed to helping Kyiv defend itself against Russian aggression.
This was stated by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague, according to her interview with DW.
Kaja Kallas stated that Ukraine remains the main priority for Europe, and for that reason, European countries are committed to helping Kyiv. She emphasized the EU’s intention to increase pressure on Russia to push it toward seeking peace.
She added that at the EU summit on June 26–27, EU leaders plan to adopt a document on Ukraine’s progress toward membership. According to Kallas, Europeans must show Ukrainians that Europe is their family.
The EU’s foreign policy chief also highlighted that European allies have done a great deal to help Ukraine scale up arms production. This includes financial support, work on procurement rules and regulatory frameworks, and cooperation with Ukraine’s defense industry.
Kallas said that Ukrainians are very innovative and noted that Europe can learn a lot from them, particularly in terms of efficiency.
