On Monday, May 5, US Chargé d'Affaires Julie Davis arrived in Kyiv, the US Embassy says.

"We are pleased to welcome new Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Julie S. Davis to Kyiv," the statement said.

Davis arrived in Ukraine at a critical time to continue implementing US President Donald Trump's policies aimed at ending the war and ensuring lasting peace and prosperity in Ukraine.

Bridget Brink's resignation

In early April, Russians attacked Kryvyi Rih. Then, a Russian ballistic missile with a cluster warhead struck the playground and killed 9 children.

The then US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, in her response to this tragedy on social network X, did not mention Russia's involvement in the attack. She pointed out that such a strike is yet another proof that the war must end.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was unpleasantly surprised by Brink's reaction to the Russian attack on Kryvyi Rih. He called it a weak reaction.

The very next day, Brink again responded to the Russian terrorist attack on Kryvyi Rih, saying that Russia was to blame.

A few days later, it became known that Brink was resigning.
