Jet drones, ballistic missiles: Ukraine briefs Germany on its major threats

Germany will continue to support Ukraine's defense. Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius agreed on this during a phone call, according to the Ministry of Defense.
Details of ministers' conversation
Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara thanked Germany for its important support and leadership in working with other partners. He briefed his counterpart on the intensifying Russian air campaign, with jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles currently posing the main threats.
The minister said Ukraine is developing its own defense plan and has already begun conducting asymmetric operations that are yielding results. At the same time, rapidly strengthening Ukraine's defenses against Russian strikes remains a top priority.
Defense industry, funding
The counterparts also discussed funding for defense needs. The Defense Ministry is auditing resources and human capital within Ukraine's defense forces, but financial support from partners remains critical to the country's resilience.
Another priority is developing a joint defense industry, with a focus on increasing production of Ukrainian-made solutions and strengthening cooperation between the Ukrainian and German defense industries.
The ministers also prepared for the upcoming Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting scheduled for next week.
Notably, Germany is one of Ukraine's key military partners. This summer, Berlin allocated another $400 million in military aid, with funds going toward air defense systems, ammunition, and missiles for Patriot systems.
