Italy seeks to play a leading role in the economic restoration of Ukraine's production structure, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on X.

"In Verona, I met with the Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba to confirm the strong support for Ukraine and the Government's commitment to reach, together with our partners, a just and lasting peace," he wrote.

He noted that Italy and Ukraine are cooperating to prepare for the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in Rome in July.

"From Veneto, one of Italy's growth engines, with numerous businesses, we aim to play a leading role in the economic reconstruction of Ukraine's production structure,” the Italian minister said.

Ukraine Recovery Conference

Last October, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced the holding of the Ukraine Recovery Conference. It will be held in Rome on July 10-11, 2025.

Earlier, the World Bank estimated Ukraine's recovery needs after the Russian invasion at $411 billion. This is higher than the previous estimate of $349 billion presented in September 2022. This amount is constantly changing due to the Russian invasion.
