Italy is preparing its 12th package of military aid for Ukraine, which may be presented soon, states Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, according to La Repubblica.

"As for Ukraine, our position remains unchanged. We continue to help Kyiv with everything we can. Most likely, yes, we will prepare a new package, which I will present soon in the same format as the previous ones," Crosetto said.

According to him, this will be Italy’s 12th aid package for Ukraine.

"As for the Patriot systems sent by Germany, that country has them and can send them. We have sent everything we had — the assistance is classified — without weakening Italy’s defense more than it already is," the Italian minister added.

Italy’s assistance to Ukraine

Italy has been helping Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The country has repeatedly extended its authorization to supply military aid to Ukraine.

Earlier, it was reported that the Italian government approved the extension of permission to continue providing military assistance to Ukraine. Parliamentary approval was required to extend arms deliveries.

After that, Italy supplied Ukraine with its 11th package of military aid, which included, in particular, the Italian version of the M113 tracked armored personnel carrier — the VCC-2 Camilino.

It is also known that Italy sent two SAMP/T missile batteries to Kyiv. The details of these deliveries are subject to strict state secrecy laws.

Notably, Italy recently expressed its readiness to join the purchase of weapons for Ukraine from the United States under the PURL mechanism.

Earlier reports also indicated that Italy’s new military aid package for Ukraine will include ammunition and air defense systems. It may be delivered by the end of the year.
