Italy prepares new mlitary aid package for Ukraine - Reuters
Italy is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. It is likely to be approved by the end of 2024, according to Reuters.
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Italy has provided nine military aid packages to Ukraine, which included two SAMP/T air defense systems.
According to sources of the agency, the Italian government is likely to approve the 10th package by the end of December 2024.
However, Reuters' sources declined to provide further details. In fact, all information regarding weapon shipments is classified.
It is noted that the Italian government requires parliamentary approval to send weapons to Ukraine, which is valid until the end of 2024.
Italian support for Ukraine
Italy has already sent nine military aid packages to Ukraine, including anti-aircraft missiles, artillery, and armored vehicles.
Additionally, it was reported that Italy will deliver SAMP/T systems to Ukraine as part of the new aid package.
Meanwhile, Italy’s Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, recently stated that Italy's position on the use of weapons supplied to Ukraine remains unchanged. According to him, the weapons can only be used on Ukrainian territory.
