The supply of military aid to Ukraine from Italy is delayed. However, there is hope that it will arrive once the war with Russia is over, states Italy's Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, according to La Repubblica.

"Unfortunately, a lot of time passes between the approval of the latest aid package and the start of logistics. I hope the aid will arrive when the war is over, meaning when it will no longer be needed," Crosetto said.

He noted that Italy continues to help Ukraine, which suffers daily from Russian attacks.

"There have been no changes in the last few months or the last week: despite discussions about a ceasefire, we haven't seen one. That’s why I hope that when the Italian aid arrives, it will no longer be needed," the Italian Minister of Defense added.

Italy's aid to Ukraine

Italy has been assisting Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The Italian government has extended the permission to supply military aid to Ukraine several times.

In particular, in January, the Italian parliament voted to continue military aid supplies to Ukraine in 2025.

That same month, it was announced that Italy was preparing the 11th aid package for Ukraine.
