'It's not about Trump': Zelenskyy responds to war being called a kid's fight

The war of Russia against Ukraine is not a children’s fight on a playground. However, US President Donald Trump is not to blame for not fully understanding the situation, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the program This Week with reference to ABC News.
Recently, Trump compared Ukraine and Russia to children who need to be allowed to fight before being separated, and also suggested that he might have to impose sanctions on both sides.
"It's not about President Trump. It's about any person who is not here in the country, who is thousands of miles away and cannot feel fully and understand this pain," Zelenskyy responded to the statement on This Week.
As the president emphasized, he and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin are not children on a playground.
"He (Putin) is a murderer who came to this park to kill the kids," Zelenskyy said, adding that he does not believe in the Russian dictator’s willingness to pursue peace and calling on Trump and the West to impose stronger sanctions against Russia.
Trump and Russia’s war against Ukraine
During the US election campaign, Trump repeatedly promised to end Russia’s war against Ukraine quickly. He even claimed he could do it within 24–48 hours. However, after taking office in the White House, he effectively abandoned those promises. His team explained that the statements had been made "as a joke."
Nevertheless, Trump is still trying to reach a peace between Ukraine and Russia in his own way. In particular, the American president held two conversations with the Russian dictator but was unable to persuade him to end the aggression against Ukraine.
In addition, the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, which Trump continues to push for, have reached a deadlock. More on this in the article by RBC-Ukraine.
