ISW reports capture of Krohmalne: Armed Forces provide explanation

The occupation of Krohmalnyi in the Kupiansk district of the Kharkiv region by invaders is a temporary phenomenon. For the Russian Federation, such a situation allows them to justify the loss of more than 7,000 military personnel since the beginning of the year, according to the comment from the Public Relations Chief of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Volodymyr Fitio, during a television marathon.
"Krohmalne, for your understanding, was a settlement where 45 people lived before the start of the large-scale war. Let's picture it as 5 buildings. These 5 buildings were destroyed by the aggressor," he explained.
According to the speaker, our main goal is to preserve the lives of Ukrainian defenders. Their positions have been relocated to prepared alternative positions, where they are currently holding their defense.
"The enemy is not allowed to advance further, and there is no threat to neighboring units. I believe that what happened is a temporary phenomenon because the front line shifts daily. We simply don't report every capture or repel of 100 or 200 meters. We don't need to do that, but for Russian propagandists, any victory needs to be portrayed as a 'Pyrrhic victory' to show why in just January, they lost 7,055 soldiers on the front in the 'Khortytsia' responsibility zone. So, at least a meter or two, and they already shout that they took Berlin," Fitio remarked.
What is known about Krohmalne
He added that Krohmalne had been previously occupied and recaptured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the Kharkiv offensive (in the fall of 2022 - editor's note). Currently, these few hundred meters have no significant importance.
