Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was reportedly wounded in the leg during one of the Israeli attacks amid the ongoing 12-day war, according to Iran International.

The semi-official Iranian news agency Fars stated that Pezeshkian sustained injuries during a strike on the building where a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council was taking place.

It is reported that Israel carried out the operation using a method similar to the one used in the assassination attempt on Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets reportedly targeted the entrances and exits of the building to block evacuation routes.

According to the source, the explosions caused a power outage. Despite this, officials managed to leave the building through an emergency hatch. It was there that Pezeshkian sustained his injury.

Notably, a few days ago, Iranian military commander Mohsen Rezaei said in an interview with Fars that the IDF had struck six locations during the Supreme National Security Council meeting.

Israel-Iran war

As a reminder, Israel and Iran were at war for 12 days starting June 13. Initially, Israel struck Iranian military and nuclear facilities. The operation was named Rising Lion. The IDF eliminated high-ranking military officials and nuclear physicists.

Following that, both countries began exchanging strikes. The US intervened on June 22, using bunker-busting bombs to hit Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Later, US President Donald Trump announced that Iran’s nuclear program had been destroyed. On June 24, he declared a ceasefire.
