Israeli Prime Minister interrupts government meeting for talks with Putin
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today, on December 10, had a phone conversation with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. For this, the Prime Minister interrupted the government meeting, reports the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu left the cabinet meeting held on Sunday morning to speak with Russia's President Vladimir Putin, only returning at the end of the meeting," the agency states.
As reported by the agency, Putin and Netanyahu spoke for about 50 minutes.
This was their second conversation since the fall 2023 attack by Hamas militants on Israel. The first conversation took place on October 16.
War in Israel
Recall that on October 7, Hamas militants attacked Israel. During the attack, terrorists killed and kidnapped not only military personnel but also civilians. Israel was regularly shelled from the Gaza Strip. Tel Aviv, in turn, initiated an operation against terrorists and an offensive operation in the Gaza Strip.
At the end of November, a temporary ceasefire began between Israel and Hamas. At that time, the parties agreed to a four-day ceasefire but decided to extend it for two more days on the condition that the militants release more hostages.
It is known that on December 1, Israel resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip and stated that Hamas had violated the ceasefire conditions.
