Israel tried to eliminate an Iranian nuclear scientist using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the center of Tehran, reports The Jerusalem Post.

During the attack, the drone hit a residential building in Tehran's Gisha neighborhood.

It is not yet known whether the scientist survived the attack.

The Israeli Defense Forces have not yet commented on this information.

The war between Israel and Iran

On June 13, Israel attacked Iranian military and nuclear facilities as part of Operation Rising Lion. The attack killed high-ranking military officers and specialists involved in Iran's nuclear program. Since then, Israel and Iran have been exchanging fire daily.

On January 19, Iran again launched a missile attack on Israeli territory, damaging a medical facility in Beersheba. In response, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced his intention to intensify strikes against Iran. He later noted that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei “cannot continue to exist”.
