Israeli military forces have eliminated the head of the Palestinian Hamas group's Security Department. He was hiding in a command center located in a former school building, reports the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The terrorist Tharwat Muhammad Ahmed Albec worked at the command and control center located in a building that previously served as the Musa bin Nusayr school in Duraj Taffah.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) noted that the Hamas Security Department prepares intelligence assessments to assist in decision-making.

This department is also responsible for the security of high-ranking members of the group, providing them with hiding places to ensure the continuation of their military activities.

"Albec served as a central figure in the Security Mechanisms and as a significant figure in the decision-making process," the statement said.

Before the strike, the Israeli military took numerous measures to reduce the risk of harm to civilians. In particular, precision-guided munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence gathering were used for the attack.

Elimination of Islamic terrorists by Israel

On Monday, December 23, the Israeli Ministry of Defense officially acknowledged its involvement in the elimination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, which took place on July 31 in Tehran.

Additionally, in recent days, Israeli aviation eliminated one of the leaders of the Tulkarm terrorist network operating on the West Bank.

On December 12, Israeli forces killed Hamas commanders involved in the October 7, 2023, invasion from the Gaza Strip.
