Israel eliminates one of leaders of Tulkarm terrorist network
Israeli aviation has eliminated one of the leaders of the Tulkarm terrorist network, Tarek Doush. Additionally, an operative of the network and two other terrorists from the group were killed, reports the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
The operation was carried out in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank.
According to Israeli military sources, over the past year, Tarek Doush recruited numerous terrorists, armed and funded by Iran and Lebanese militants associated with the Maqdah family, to plan and carry out terrorist attacks against Israelis.
The terrorist network led by Doush carried out numerous armed assaults on IDF soldiers, as well as attacks on checkpoints and settlements near the security fence in Judea and Samaria, around the city of Tulkarm. Additionally, the network was planning attacks within Israel.
Furthermore, Israeli aviation eliminated a key military operative of the Tulkarm terrorist network, Dossam Awfi, along with two other terrorists.
Elimination of leaders of Islamic groups
Over a year since the beginning of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military has eliminated several leaders of terrorist organizations in the Middle East supported by Iran.
In early December, Israeli forces eliminated Nidal al-Najar, the head of Hamas's aviation and air defense units in Gaza City.
In October, the IDF also killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
