Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been eliminated. Israel emphasized that he was responsible for the October 7 attack, according to the IDF and The Times of Israel.

"The mass murderer Yahya Sinwar, who is responsible for the massacre and atrocities of October 7, was killed today by IDF soldiers," the IDF reported.

According to the Israeli army, yesterday soldiers from the IDF's Southern Command eliminated Yahya Sinwar during an operation in the southern Gaza Strip.

"Yahya Sinwar planned and executed the October 7th Massacre, promoted his murderous ideology both before and during the war, and was responsible for the murder and abduction of many Israelis," the military added.

The IDF reported that Yahya Sinwar had been hiding among Gaza's civilian population and in Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip for the past year before being eliminated.

"This is a great military and moral achievement for Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the evil axis of radical Islam led by Iran," emphasized Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz.

Katz also stressed that Sinwar's killing "creates a possibility" for the immediate release of hostages and for establishing a Gaza free from Hamas and Iranian control.

"Israel needs your support and assistance now more than ever to advance these important goals together," he concluded.

On October 7 last year, Hamas launched a large-scale attack on Israel, marking one of the deadliest days in the country's history.

Hamas militants infiltrated southern Israel from the Gaza Strip, launching thousands of rockets and breaching Israel's border defense. In response, Israel announced the start of Operation Swords of Iron and began military actions against terrorists in the Gaza Strip.
