The Israeli military eliminated two Hamas commanders who led an attack on the country from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. One of them was in charge of the group's paragliding unit, reports the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

For example, the military struck and killed terrorist Fehmi Salmi, a Nukhba Company Commander in Hamas' Zeitoun Battalion, who operated from a building that used to serve as the Al-Falah school.

On October 7, 2023, Salmi and his platoon led an attack on the IDF outpost Paga on the border with the Gaza Strip in southern Israel, during which 14 Israeli soldiers were killed. During the war, Salmi led numerous attacks on IDF forces.

In addition, the Israeli military in the Jabaliya area eliminated the terrorist Salah Dahham, the head of a Hamas paragliding unit, in an air strike.

“On October 7, Dahham led the militants' aerial infiltration of settlements in southern Israel, which was a key element of Hamas' bloody attacks on civilians,” the statement said.

Hamas group's invasion of Israel

Terrorists of the Palestinian Hamas movement invaded Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.

In the first days of hostilities, the Islamists killed 1,200 Israelis and foreigners and took about 250 hostages, who were taken and are still being held in the Gaza Strip.

Shortly after the invasion, the Israeli army launched a ground military operation in the enclave, which continues to this day.

In early December, the IDF killed terrorist Nidal al-Najar. He was the head of the Hamas air and air defense unit in Gaza City.

In October, the Israeli military eliminated the head of the group, Yahya Sinwar, who was also involved in the October 7 attack.

In addition, the IDF killed Saeed Atallah Ali. He was a member of Hamas' military wing in Lebanon.
