The elimination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was an Israeli operation. It took place in Tehran in the summer, stated Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, according to The Times of Israel.

Katz addressed the Yemeni Houthis targeting Israeli territory with missiles. He reminded them that Israel had defeated Hamas and Hezbollah, "blinded" Iran's air defense systems, and damaged Iran's missile production capabilities.

"We will strike (the Houthis’ - ed.) strategic infrastructure and decapitate its leaders. Just as we did to Haniyeh, Sinwar, and Nasrallah, in Tehran, Gaza, and Lebanon — we will do in Hodeidah and Sanaa (Yemeni cities - ed.)," Katz said.

Elimination of Haniyeh

On July 31, it was reported that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran. The incident occurred after Haniyeh attended the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Haniyeh was eliminated while staying at a veterans’ residence in northern Tehran. Hamas accused Israel of carrying out the airstrike.

However, Israeli officials have not officially acknowledged their country’s involvement in Haniyeh’s elimination to this day.
