Israeli army eliminates commander of Hezbollah anti-tank unit

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have eliminated the commander of an anti-tank unit on the Southern Front of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Telegram channel.
It is reported that on the night of Monday, March 24, Israeli forces attacked the area of the city of Nabatiya in southern Lebanon. During the strike, Hassan Kamal Halawi, the commander of Hezbollah's anti-tank unit, was eliminated.
"During the war, Halawi was responsible for numerous terror attacks against the State of Israel. He facilitated the movement of operatives and the supply of weapons into southern Lebanon. In recent months, Halawi continued to engage in terrorist activity against Israeli civilians," the statement reads.
The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) emphasized that the terrorist activities of Hassan Kamal Halawi posed a significant threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.
Incident in Syria
On the morning of Tuesday, March 25, Israeli military forces identified several terrorists who opened fire on them in southern Syria.
The soldiers returned fire, and the IDF attacked the terrorists. The strikes were confirmed as successful.
Israel-Hezbollah war
In 2024, the IDF eliminated almost all the leaders of the Hezbollah group, and in September, Israeli forces began a ground operation against Lebanese terrorists in southern Lebanon.
At the end of November, Israel and Hezbollah agreed to a ceasefire. According to the agreement, Israel would withdraw its forces from the country within 60 days, while the Lebanese Army would take control of the southern regions to prevent the return of militants.
However, the de facto ceasefire has been regularly violated. Israeli forces occasionally attack Hezbollah infrastructure and eliminate leaders and units of the group that violate the ceasefire.
On March 16, the IDF struck a Radwan unit command center of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
