Israel launched a large-scale wave of strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The attack marked the largest coordinated operation against the group’s infrastructure since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Large-scale strike details

According to the IDF, within 10 minutes, Israeli forces simultaneously attacked more than 100 command centers and military targets in Beirut, Beqaa, and southern Lebanon.

The operation was meticulously planned over several weeks based on precise intelligence data. Strategic units of the terrorist organization were targeted, including intelligence centers, headquarters, firepower infrastructure, and naval assets.

In particular, Hezbollah’s elite units, such as the Radwan Forces and the Air Unit, suffered significant losses.

Human shields use

According to the Israeli command, most of the targeted sites were located in civilian population centers. The IDF emphasizes that this is part of the militants’ strategy to use people as human shields.

"The Hezbollah terror organization deliberately decided to join the war, operating on the behalf of the Iranian terror regime while harming the State of Lebanon and its civilians," the Israel Defense Forces state.

The military also adds that all possible measures were taken before the strikes to minimize harm to bystanders.

Official Jerusalem emphasizes that it will not allow harm to be inflicted on its citizens and will continue to act decisively against terrorists.

"The State of Lebanon and its civilians must refuse Hezbollah's entrenchment in civilian areas and its weapon build-up capabilities," the statement says.

Israel-Iran conflict

The situation in the Middle East remains tense, despite diplomatic efforts by the United States.

On the night of April 8, US President Donald Trump announced that a two-week ceasefire agreement had been reached with Iran, which Israel also joined. It was expected that the parties would use this time to finalize a peace agreement.

However, the ceasefire was already in danger of collapsing within the first few hours. Media reports indicated that Israel and Iran continued to exchange strikes.

Tehran officially declared a breach of the ceasefire and an attack on an oil refinery on the Lavan Island. Additionally, it is noted that Iranian forces continue to attack not only Israel but also other countries in the Middle East.
