Trump announces two-week ceasefire with Iran

US President Donald Trump said in his post on Truth Social that he has agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran. During this period, the parties plan to finalize a deal.
In his post, Trump once again confirmed that Pakistan's prime minister, along with a field marshal, had asked him to restrain " the destructive force," and he agreed.
"Subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the complete, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack on Iran for the period of two weeks. This will be a double-sided ceasefire," Trump wrote.
He explained that the reason for his decision is that the United States has already "met and exceeded all military objectives" and has moved closer to a final agreement on long-term peace with Iran and peace in the Middle East.
"We received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two-week period will allow the agreement to be finalized and consummated,” the post said.
Summing up, Trump added that it is a great honor for him that "this long-term problem is close to resolution."
Meanwhile, CNN, citing a senior White House official, reports that Israel has also agreed to a two-week ceasefire. According to the official, the country is ready to pause its strikes during the negotiations.
According to The New York Times, Iran has also agreed to a two-week ceasefire. The decision was reportedly approved by the countryєs new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
At the same time, Iranєs National Security Council stated that by the 10th day of the war, the United States had realized it could not win, and also claimed that Washington had agreed to Tehran’s 10-point proposal.
The media also reports that the United States has already halted all strikes on Iran.
Later, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Iran and the United States, together with their allies, had agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere "right away." The truce applies, in particular, to Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries.
However, media reports say that despite the ceasefire, Israel and Iran continue to attack each other. The United States, however, appears to have indeed already stopped hostilities.
What Trump demanded
It should be recalled that US President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz by 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time on Wednesday. That meant only a few hours remained before the deadline expired.
Otherwise, Trump threatened that the United States would begin bombing bridges and power plants across Iran. Over the past day, he also said that an entire civilization in Iran could perish overnight.
