Israel's operation in Lebanon: IDF announces strikes on Hezbollah targets
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have begun attacks on Hezbollah targets within Lebanese territory, according to a post from IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee on Twitter and the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
"We are currently bombing strategic Hezbollah targets in Beirut," Adraee wrote.
Israeli media report that the IDF has also launched an attack on the Lebanese city of Sidon, located in the suburbs of Beirut.

Lebanese security officials stated that Israeli tanks have not yet crossed into the country. However, there has been intense shelling near the Litani River, and Israeli aircraft activity can be heard in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel, where three rockets were subsequently fired from Lebanon into northern regions of the country. The rockets landed in open areas.
Risk of Israel's ground operation in Lebanon
On Monday, September 30, Western media reported that the Israeli army plans to invade Lebanon. The operation aims to push Hezbollah militants away from the border and establish a 20-kilometer buffer zone between the two countries to halt rocket fire into northern Israel.
Lebanese troops have already begun to withdraw from the border with Israel.
The IDF has urged residents of southern Beirut to evacuate, as strikes on Hezbollah targets are expected.
Additionally, the Israeli army has established a closed military zone near several border communities.
The US has stated that Israel plans to conduct limited ground operations in Lebanon, with IDF forces potentially invading the country as early as this week.
