Israeli officials said they highly appreciate Ukraine's decision to recognize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, according to statements by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.
"We appreciate the decision of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization. This is an important diplomatic and moral decision: Against terror. Against repression. For freedom," Sa'ar said.
At the same time, Brodsky confirmed that Ukraine informed Israel of the decision to recognize the IRGC as a terrorist organization.
He added that this information was conveyed to Sa'ar by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
"We appreciate Ukraine's decision," the ambassador concluded.
Ukraine recognizes the IRGC as a terrorist organization
Yesterday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine supports the Iranian people who are ready to fight for their freedom.
"The whole world sees what is happening in Iran, the number of killings, and how the Iranian regime has invested in spreading war and violence in the region and around the world. Ukraine will not forget a single one of the thousands of Shaheds striking our cities and villages, targeting our people," the president said.
He emphasized that official European procedures to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization are ongoing. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has gone through this path, and for Kyiv, this issue is closed.
