Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana has promised to nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year, The Times of Israel reports.

"Mr. President, you stand before the people of Israel not as another American president, but as a giant of Jewish history — one for whom we must look back, two and a half millennia into the mists of time to find a parallel, in Cyrus the Great," Ohana said.

He added that the world does not need peacemakers but leaders who are bold, decisive, strong, and courageous.

"The world needs more Trumps," said the Knesset Speaker.

Ohana emphasized that Trump "more than any other individual" deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

The Knesset Speaker said that he and House Speaker Mike Johnson "will rally speakers and presidents of parliaments from around the world to submit your candidacy" for 2026.

Trump did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize

This year, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Venezuelan opposition politician María Corina Machado.

After receiving the award, Machado stated that she dedicates the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump.
