Israel launches another airstrike on Beirut
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out another airstrike on Lebanon's capital, Beirut, today, October 7, according to the IDF.
"The IDF is currently conducting a targeted strike in the area of Dahieh, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold," the statement says.
They added that more detailed information about the attack would be provided later.
Meanwhile, photos and videos circulating online show that the strike targeted a location near Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
What preceded the attack
Israeli air forces have recently carried out multiple airstrikes on Lebanon's capital. During these attacks, the IDF eliminated high-ranking Hezbollah militants.
Specifically, on September 27, Israel successfully killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. The airstrike hit the group's central headquarters, located underground beneath a residential building in the Dahiya district of Beirut.
Additionally, during the September 20 strike on Beirut, Israeli forces eliminated Ibrahim Aqil, the head of Hezbollah’s Operations Unit and commander of its elite Radwan forces.
