Israel gives Gaza residents last chance to leave city

Residents of Gaza can leave the city through IDF checkpoints. This is their last chance to exit the zone of active hostilities, stated Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on X.
According to the minister, Israeli forces have completed the capture of the Netzarim Corridor — a military term used in Israel to describe a strategic line running through the former Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip that connects the northern and southern parts of the enclave. In doing so, the IDF has effectively divided Gaza into two parts — north and south.
Katz noted that this success by the Israel Defense Forces will tighten the siege around Gaza City. He added that anyone wishing to leave the city southward will now have to pass through IDF checkpoints.
"This is the last opportunity for Gaza residents who wish to do so to move south and leave Hamas terrorists isolated in Gaza City, in the face of IDF activity that continues with full force," Katz noted, adding that those remaining in Gaza City will be "terrorists and supporters of terror."
He noted that the Israeli army is prepared for all possible scenarios and intends to continue its operations decisively until all hostages are returned and Hamas is disarmed, paving the way to end the war.
Trump's peace plan
Recently, US President Donald Trump presented a peace plan for the Gaza Strip. It calls for a ceasefire in the enclave and the removal of Hamas from power.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has endorsed the plan, while Hamas militants have yet to respond.
On September 30, Trump set a deadline for Hamas, saying the militants must react to his proposals within three to four days.
