Israel declares three more northern districts on border with Lebanon as closed military zone
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has declared three northern districts on the border with Lebanon a closed military zone. From now on, entry to these areas is prohibited.
“After assessing the situation, the areas of Manara, Ifta, and Malkiya in northern Israel have been declared a closed military zone. Entry to these areas is prohibited,” the IDF said.
This is the third closed military zone imposed on the northern border since the start of the IDF ground operation in Lebanon last week.
The order prohibits civilians from entering areas where the Israeli military is operating, including areas in Israel across the border from Lebanese villages where fighting may be taking place.
The IDF has recently declared the Metula, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi areas a closed military zone.
Situation in Israel
Tomorrow, October 7, will mark the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel. The situation in the region has deteriorated significantly in recent weeks.
In particular, the Western newspaper The Guardian reported that on the eve of the anniversary, the Israeli military is expanding its operations and preparing a “significant and serious retaliation” against Iran for last week's large-scale missile attack.
