The Israeli military command has approved a plan for an advance into Lebanon. Hezbollah has been threatened with destruction, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Telegram and The Times of Israel.

Head of the Northern Command of the IDF Major General Ori Gordin and Head of the Operations Directorate Major General Oded Basyuk conducted a joint assessment of the situation in northern Israel.

"As part of the situational assessment, operational plans for an offensive in Lebanon were approved and validated, and decisions were taken on the continuation of increasing the readiness of troops in the field," clarified the IDF.

Meanwhile, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz emphasized that his country is "close to the moment when it will decide to change the rules of the game" against Hezbollah and Lebanon.

"In a total war, Hezbollah will be destroyed and Lebanon will be hit hard," the official stressed.

It should be noted that such statements were made against the backdrop of ongoing Hezbollah attacks on northern areas of Israel. The strikes have continued since Hamas militants invaded Israeli territory last October.

The Israeli government has already stated that it cannot tolerate the presence of Hezbollah militants near its northern borders any longer, so if no diplomatic solution is found, the country will resort to military action.

On June 13, Reuters reported, citing an unnamed senior US official, that the US is concerned about the possibility of a full-scale war on the Israel-Lebanon border.
