Irresponsible rhetoric: Pentagon reacts to Russia's upcoming nuclear weapons exercises
Russia's plans to conduct nuclear exercises are another example of the Kremlin's irresponsible rhetoric, states the Pentagon spokesman, Air Force Brigadier General Pat Ryder.
According to him, the United States has not observed any changes in "strategic force posture" after Moscow announced tactical nuclear weapons exercises.
It's "an example of the kind of irresponsible rhetoric that we've seen from Russia in the past," said Ryder.
What preceded it
Today, on May 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced preparations for nuclear weapons exercises.
During the exercises, the Russian army will practice preparation for the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
Moscow justifies such actions by the "provocative statements" of Western countries.
Recently, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron said that his country allows Ukraine to use British weapons to strike targets in Russia.
