The United States sees the home stretch in ending hostilities in the Middle East, although this will not happen today or tomorrow, says US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Washington sees "the finish line" in the war with Iran, Rubio says. "It's not today, it's not tomorrow, but it is coming," he adds.

He also reports that messages are being exchanged between Iran and the US, and that there is potential for a face-to-face meeting at some point between the two sides.

According to him, Washington will also have to review its relationship with NATO after the war with Iran.

"Ultimately, that's a decision for the president to make, and he'll have to make it. But I do think, unfortunately, we are going to have to re-examine whether or not this alliance that has served this country well for a while is still serving that purpose, or has it now become a one-way street where America is simply in a position to defend Europe, but when we need the help of our allies, they're going to deny us basing rights, and they're going to deny us overflight," Rubio adds.

End of hostilities in Middle East

Earlier, Trump stated that the US war against Iran would last another two to three weeks. The United States has already succeeded in changing the government in the country, and Tehran will not have nuclear weapons.

Trump also recently informed his aides of his readiness to end the war against Iran, noting that he would consider this option even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed.

Before this, Trump had stated that if Iran does not agree to a deal and does not open the Strait of Hormuz, the US will blow up and destroy all power plants, oil wells, and the island of Kharg. At the same time, he has already acknowledged that a deal with Tehran may not happen.

Meanwhile, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced its intention to launch attacks starting April 1 on facilities belonging to US technology companies, including Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia, located in the Middle East.
