Iran states that death of Hamas leader strengthens spirit of resistance
Iran's mission to the United Nations stated that the circumstances surrounding the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar will strengthen the spirit of resistance, reports The Guardian.
Sinwar was likely killed during a battle with Israeli forces in Rafah, rather than hiding in a bunker, as Israel has consistently portrayed.
Iran's mission to the UN referred to the Hamas leader as a martyr, stating he would serve as an example for the youth and children who continue his path to the liberation of Palestine.
"As long as occupation and aggression exist, resistance will endure, for the martyr remains alive and a source of inspiration," the Iranian diplomats' statement read.
On October 17, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the liquidation of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, emphasizing that he was responsible for the October 7 attack.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that evil had suffered a heavy blow. However, he asserted that the task facing Israel was not yet complete.
Yahya Sinwar became the new leader of Hamas after Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran on August 31.
