Iranian media have refuted Trump's statement about the opening of the Strait of Hormuz as part of a deal, reports Al Jazeera.
What Iran is saying
The country's state media called Trump's statement incomplete and not corresponding to reality.
Although Iran has agreed to allow a certain number of ships to return to pre-war levels, this does not mean free passage in the pre-war sense.
"The management of the strait, determining the route, time, manner of passage, and issuing permits, will remain exclusively under the control and discretion of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the agency reports said.
Earlier, the NYT revealed that the US had excluded Israel from peace negotiations with Iran — due to Netanyahu's overly optimistic assessments on the eve of the war, which proved unfounded.
CNN also reported that Trump and Netanyahu had diverged in their views on further war with Iran — the rift between the allies deepens the uncertainty over the future of the conflict.
