Iran's supreme leader moved to safety after Hezbollah leader's elimination
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has been moved to a safe location. This decision follows reports regarding the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, reports Reuters.
Two Iranian officials informed the publication that Iran's Supreme Leader has been relocated to a secure location within the country under heightened security measures.
According to sources cited by Reuters, Iran is in constant contact with Lebanese Hezbollah and other regional groups to determine the next steps following Israel's announcement regarding the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
It is worth noting that in July, the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, was eliminated in the capital of Lebanon.
Elimination of the Hezbollah leader
On September 27, Israeli aviation launched strikes on the capital of Lebanon, Beirut. The target of the attack was Hassan Nasrallah, who had led Hezbollah for 32 years.
Information regarding Nasrallah's alleged death began to spread on social media, while other media outlets, including Iranian sources, claimed he was still alive.
Today, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of the Hezbollah leader. According to Israel, the strike targeted Hezbollah's headquarters, resulting in the deaths of southern front commander Ali Karki and other commanders of the group.
Who Hassan Nasrallah is and why he became a target for Israel is detailed in the RBC-Ukraine article.
