Iran has pulled out of ceasefire talks with the United States following a new wave of pressure and strikes on its territory. Tehran, through Pakistan, conveyed that it will no longer participate in negotiations with Washington, The New York Times reports.

Why Iran halted the talks

Iran decided to withdraw from negotiations after increased military pressure from the US and Israel. According to sources, the sides had been trying to reach a ceasefire through intermediaries, including Pakistan.

However, these contacts failed to produce results. At the same time, the US President’s rhetoric became harsher and the demands more uncompromising.

What happened before

In recent days, the situation has escalated sharply:

US President Donald Trump publicly threatened Tehran. "A whole civilization will die tonight," he said, describing the potential consequences of further escalation.

According to Iranian officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, further negotiations have lost their meaning.

Iranian outlet Tehran Times denies reports about a halt in negotiations.

"Diplomatic and indirect channels of talks with the US are not closed," the statement says.

The US has moved closer to a ground operation. According to Western media, strikes on Iranian facilities have intensified, indicating a possible expansion of military action.

Meanwhile, Iran is forming human chains to shield energy infrastructure from potential Israeli-American strikes.
