The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Tehran, Kyrylo Pozdniakov, was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. There, he was presented with a note of protest, this was stated in a declaration by the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s department, according to ISNA.

A Ukrainian diplomat was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs over allegedly unfounded statements made by some Ukrainian officials regarding the war between Israel and Iran. The specific statements in question were not specified.

At the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the chargé d’affaires of Ukraine was issued a "strong protest."

Iranian Foreign Ministry official Shahram Farsai stated that the Ukrainian authorities supposedly "ignore Ukraine’s international legal obligations to uphold the principles and purposes of the UN Charter, as well as the four Geneva Conventions." He accused Kyiv of supporting Israel’s military aggression.

In response, Pozdniakov promised to deliver the note of protest to the Ukrainian government soon.

Such statements from the Iranian Foreign Ministry are quite cynical, considering that Tehran is the one supplying Russia with Shahed kamikaze drones, which have already caused the deaths of a large number of Ukrainians.

Reaction of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to the Israel-Iran conflict

After the outbreak of the war between Israel and Iran, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the restoration of stability in the Middle East.

The ministry also pointed out that it is the Iranian regime that is the source of many problems in the Middle East and beyond.
