Ukraine is monitoring the development of events in the Middle East amid Israel’s attack on Iran. It calls for avoiding destabilization of the region and preventing civilian casualties, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine.

"Realizing the risks of further destabilization of the entire region, we state that the continuation of hostilities may have negative consequences for international security and global financial stability, especially in oil markets," the MFA writes.

At the same time, the agency recalls that the Iranian regime supports the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine and provides the terrorist country with weapons. In particular, it is Iran that is the source of many problems in the Middle East and beyond.

As noted by the MFA of Ukraine, the restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East will meet the interests not only of the region but also of the international community.

"In this context, we call on the international community to take joint and decisive action to overcome current security threats and coordinated containment of the group of aggressive regimes – Russia, Iran, and North Korea," adds the MFA of Ukraine.

Israel’s attack on Iran

On the night of June 13, Israel carried out strikes on the territory of Iran, focusing on the country's military and nuclear infrastructure. These actions were part of an operation called Lion Nation.

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, commenting on the situation, emphasized that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. At the same time, he expressed hope that the Iranian side would return to the negotiation process.
