Iran has suspended its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a senior official confirmed on Monday.

The announcement came from Ebrahim Rezaei, a member of Iran’s parliamentary commission, according to Reuters.

"The national security committee of Iran's parliament approved the general outline of a bill meant to fully suspend Tehran's cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog," states the message.

The Iranian parliament’s national security committee has approved the general principles of a bill aimed at fully halting Tehran’s cooperation with the UN body. According to Rezaei, inspections and reporting to the IAEA will be suspended "as long as the security of nuclear facilities is not guaranteed."

The bill still needs to be approved at a plenary session.

Earlier, IAEA head Rafael Grossi demanded that Iran inform the agency of any movement of nuclear materials within the country.

Iran–US relations

On June 22, the United States struck three nuclear sites in Iran. These are facilities located in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The US used specialized bunker-busting bombs designed to hit fortified targets.

On Sunday evening, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that his country had successfully destroyed Iran’s nuclear program.

US President Donald Trump confirmed the information. He said that all key sites had suffered "monumental damage."

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested that the Fordow site might have withstood the American strikes.
