Iran’s representative to the UN in Geneva, Ali Bahraini, said that the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is not appearing in public due to security measures, according to CNN.
According to Ali Bahraini, despite his absence from public view, Mojtaba Khamenei continues to perform his duties.
"The reason for his absence from public view is the observance of security considerations due to the current special circumstances," Iran’s representative to the UN explained.
What is known about Khamenei’s 'disappearance'
The new Supreme Leader of Iran is the son of the late Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba Khamenei. Just a week ago, he addressed the nation for the second time since his appointment without video or audio, raising further doubts about his condition.
There have been reports that Khamenei Jr.’s health may be far more serious than officially stated. In particular, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth noted that Khamenei is not just wounded, which could explain his prolonged absence from public view.
US President Donald Trump also expressed doubts that Khamenei is alive, pointing out that he has still not appeared in public.
Media reports have claimed that Khamenei narrowly survived an attack on his bunker, leaving the site just seconds before the strike. However, his wife, son, and parents were reportedly killed in the missile attack.
It has also been reported that he was secretly taken to Moscow, where he allegedly required surgery following attacks by the US and Israel. According to these claims, he is undergoing treatment in one of the residences of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.
