Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, survived a strike on his bunker by chance. At the same time, his parents, wife, and son were killed, The Telegraph reports.

The publication listened to an audio recording of an address by the head of Ali Khamenei's office, Mazaher Hosseini, to officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to which Khamenei went out into the garden before the strike.

This step saved his life, but the impact of Blue Sparrow ballistic missiles on the bunker killed six members of the Iranian leader's family. In particular, his parents, wife, and son were killed.

Mojtaba Khamenei had gone outside "to do something" moments before Israeli Blue Sparrow ballistic missiles hit his residence, The Telegraph reports.

Hosseini noted that the missile strike was aimed at destroying the entire Khamenei family. The attack also targeted Mojtaba's house, his son-in-law's residence, and his brother's house with his wife.

It is noted that in Iran, Khamenei's survival is considered "God’s will."

Rumors around Khamenei

On March 13, the United States announced a 10 million reward for information on Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, and leaders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

At the same time, United States President Donald Trump expressed doubts that Khamenei is alive, noting that he has not appeared in public.

After that, the media reported rumors that the new Iranian leader is allegedly in Moscow, where he is undergoing treatment after injuries received during strikes by the United States and Israel. According to unconfirmed data, he may be in one of the Kremlin residences.
