Iran criticized the US 15-point peace plan, calling it "excessive," and presented its own conditions for ending the war, according to Sky News.
According to an Iranian source, Tehran has reviewed US President Donald Trump’s proposal but does not consider it acceptable in its current form.
"Iran will end the war at a time of its own choosing only if its own conditions are met," the source emphasized.
The source also stressed that Tehran "will not allow US President Trump to dictate the timing of the end of the war."
According to the official, Iran has already informed Washington through a mediator that it will continue to defend itself.
Tehran’s first condition for ending the war is a complete halt to attacks on Iran.
Another demand is guaranteed compensation for the damages Iran has suffered during the fighting.
What is known about Trump’s 15-point plan
Earlier, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt stated that the US had presented Iran with a 15-point peace plan aimed at ending hostilities in the Middle East.
Key proposals include transferring 440 kilograms of highly enriched uranium stored in Iran to international control.
A separate section of the plan addresses the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, which was effectively blocked following the start of US and Israeli military operations.
