Inside Russian attack on Kyiv: Fires and destruction hit six districts

Kyiv faced extensive destruction following a Russian combined attack on July 10. Damage was recorded in six districts of Kyiv, with the heaviest in Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts, according to Kyiv City State Administration and Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv City Military Administration.
The Russians used ballistic missiles and strike drones. As of 10:30 AM Kyiv time, significant destruction has been confirmed across six Kyiv districts.
Casualties and injuries
According to available information, two people were killed. Among them was a young police officer and an employee of the Kyiv metro. Sixteen others were injured. Ten of the wounded were hospitalized.
Shevchenkivskyi district
- Fire on the roof of a 12-story residential building. The fire was extinguished.
- Fire in a garage cooperative. The fire was extinguished.
- Fire in a five-story building. The fire was extinguished.
- Damage and fire on the top floor of a 10-story residential building.
- Parts of a downed aerial target fell on school grounds.
- Partial damage to two office buildings at different addresses.
- Debris fell on an open area.
- Damage to a nine-story residential building.
- Drone debris fell on the roof of a high-rise building.
In total, damage was recorded at 12 locations. A school, seven residential buildings, and several non-residential and office structures were hit.
Local authorities noted high discipline among residents of one affected building. Everyone stayed in shelters, which helped avoid casualties.
Podilskyi district
- Fire and partial destruction of non-residential premises at three locations.
- Window glazing was damaged in a residential building.
- Debris from downed aerial targets fell in open areas at two addresses.
In total, damage was recorded at six locations, including one residential building.
Darnytskyi district

Russian nighttime attack on Ukraine, July 10
Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine overnight on July 10. Kyiv was the primary target of the strike. Powerful explosions were heard across the capital. The Ukrainian Air Force reported drone attacks and missile movements toward the city.
Overall, the Ukrainian Air Force shot down 178 Russian air targets. Additionally, 204 drones and missiles were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare systems.
