Inside Prince Harry's rare encounter with Charles III before traveling to Kyiv

Prince Harry, who made an unexpected visit to Ukraine, held a private meeting with his father, King Charles III, the day before. Their conversation may represent the first step toward reconciliation after a prolonged period of tension in their relationship.
Rare father-and-son conversation
The Duke of Sussex arrived at London's Clarence House, where he spent 54 minutes behind closed doors with his father. Their last meeting was in February 2024, when the king was diagnosed with cancer, but that encounter lasted only a brief fifteen minutes.
This time, according to sources, the atmosphere was significantly warmer and more trusting.
"This is an important first step towards rebuilding their father-and-son relationship," insiders confirmed.
Harry's promise
Sources report that during the conversation, Prince Harry promised the king he would not disclose details of their discussion or give interviews on the topic. He also instructed his team to refrain from making any comments to the press.
"There's a long way to go before Harry can earn his family's trust but he's given some assurances," royal insiders emphasized.

Appearance at Invictus Games
Immediately after the meeting, the duke appeared at the Invictus Games event at London's The Gherkin hotel, joking about being late due to city traffic and calling his father "great" when asked by journalists.
Harry delivered a speech about the future of the tournament for injured military personnel and veterans, outlining plans for the project's development over the next decade.
Prince Harry's visit to Ukraine
Following his meetings in London, the Duke of Sussex traveled to Kyiv. His trip has a humanitarian mission: supporting Ukrainian military personnel and veterans and promoting the Invictus Games program, which helps injured soldiers undergo rehabilitation and return to civilian life.
The duke plans to attend several charitable events and meet with Ukrainian military personnel and their families.
"We cannot stop the war but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process," he told The Guardian.

Step toward family reconciliation
Although Prince William did not attend the meeting with his brother and father, he was informed about the conversation. Royal commentators believe this quiet discussion and Harry's promise could mark the beginning of reconciliation not only with his father but with the entire royal family.
