Ukraine is prepared to agree to an energy and agricultural truce in the Black Sea, and is also considering an unconditional ceasefire along the line of contact, states Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha during a press briefing.

According to the foreign minister, there are currently four relevant international proposals on the table. The most comprehensive is an initiative from India, which has for the first time expressed its readiness to play an active mediating role in this process.

"We have four proposals. The most comprehensive is India's proposal. For the first time, India has signaled its willingness to play a role," Sybiha stated.

Furthermore, there are three other initiatives. Türkiye and Egypt have proposed a grain and agricultural truce in the Black Sea. This is of critical importance to Egypt, as the country relies on Ukrainian grain for roughly a third of its supply.

The US' proposal pertains to an energy truce, a concept that was discussed during a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump.

The Ukrainian side has already conveyed its own vision of the process to its partners. Ukraine is prepared for both an energy and a Black Sea truce, but only as a comprehensive, interconnected package.

The foreign minister emphasized that the energy component entails a complete cessation of strikes on all energy infrastructure, including port facilities.

Furthermore, Ukraine has expressed its readiness for an unconditional ceasefire along the line of contact, which could emerge as a potential outcome of a prospective meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The US side is currently actively working along this diplomatic track.

German officials recently stated that Russia is currently not interested in engaging in genuine peace negotiations. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made this assertion following a meeting between the foreign ministers of both countries, reiterating Germany's commitment to continued support for Ukraine.

At the same time, German diplomatic circles suggest that negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine could commence in the near future.

In particular, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul expressed expectations for such talks, emphasizing Berlin's desire to participate directly in the process.
