There is also a video sped up several dozen times. This is a time-lapse made by two cameras, each of which took a photo with a shutter speed of 3-5 seconds.
Tsuchinshan-ATLAS comet
C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is a long-period comet that was independently discovered by two observatories: the ATLAS system in South Africa on February 22, 2023, and the Chinese Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory on January 9, 2023. The official opening date is January 9, 2023.
Its period of orbit around the Sun has not yet been determined (according to astronomers, comets of this type make one revolution around the Sun in thousands or even millions of years), it has a hyperbolic orbit and a huge speed of 60 km/s (more than the third space speed).
According to NASA experts, C/2023 A3 is the brightest comet in the last 27 years.
October 12-15 are the most comfortable days to observe the comet with the naked eye. Therefore, on Tuesday, Ukrainians will also be able to take pictures of it. It could be seen right after sunset, low above the horizon.
