Russians have increased the number of attempts to attack in the Avdiivka direction. Within a day, Ukrainian forces repelled 18 attempts by aggressors to advance, states the spokesperson for the Tavriia direction, Oleksandr Shtupun.

According to him, in recent days, the number of attacks near Avdiivka has significantly increased, but the quality of enemy attacks has worsened.

"There is a continuation of involvement in assaults by individuals among criminal elements, as well as Russian citizens who have never before taken part in combat actions," stated Shtupun.

He notes that such actions by Russia led to the disorientation of some occupiers' units. Also, cases of these disoriented Russians falling into captivity are being recorded.

"The personnel whom the occupiers bring in are placed in the homes of local residents, using them as a human shield," said Shtupun.

Fighting for Avdiivka

In October, Russian occupiers intensified their offensive on Avdiivka. The enemy is shelling the city and nearby settlements.

Recently, the General Staff reported that in the area around Avdiivka, the Russians, with air support, continued assaults to encircle the city.

Earlier, the head of the Avdiivka Military-Civil Administration expressed the opinion that Russian forces were most likely prepared for a third wave of assaulting the city, but weather conditions prevent them from using equipment.
