In Istanbul, armed intruders hit church: One victim reported
Unknown armed men stormed into a Catholic church in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul. As a result of the attack, one person has been reported dead, according to CNN Turk.
The attack occurred during the Sunday service on January 28. Two masked men stormed into the church and opened fire.
Türkiye's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, reported that a man lost his life due to the attack.
"At around 11:40 today, during the service at the Church of St. Mary in the Büyükdere area of Sarıyer, two masked individuals attacked with weapons one of the participants in the ritual, who unfortunately lost his life," noted the minister.
The assailants fled the scene of the tragedy. Turkish law enforcement has initiated an investigation and is actively searching for the attackers.

On December 21, a man carried out a shooting at a university in the center of Prague. Initially, there were reports of 10 victims, but later in the evening, local law enforcement clarified that the shooter killed at least 15 people and injured at least 24.
According to the chief of police in the Czech Republic, the attacker committed suicide when law enforcement opened fire on him. The gunman was identified as 24-year-old David Kozak, a student of the Faculty of Philosophy.
