Czech media: Prague shooter was 24-year-old philosophy student, motive unknown
A shooting with a large number of casualties occurred in the center of Prague (Czechia) today, December 21. The perpetrator is believed to be 24-year-old David Kozak, a philosophy student at a local university, reports Novinky.cz.
On Thursday afternoon, the police announced the search for this young man in connection with a violent death case in the town of Kladensko. Later, it was revealed that Kozak was likely the gunman in the Czech capital, responsible for killing at least ten people and injuring dozens.
According to information released by the police in connection with the search, Kozak was armed.
The motive of the perpetrator, who opened fire in a school in Prague today, is unknown.

Kozak had a bachelor's degree in history and European studies and later pursued a master's degree in history, specializing in the history of Poland.
Shooting in the center of Prague
Earlier today, on December 21, the Czech police reported a shooting on the premises of a school located on Jan Palach Square. Law enforcement also informed that the shooter had been eliminated.
Oleg Nikolenko, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, stated that information about Ukrainian victims had not been received at the moment. Ukrainian diplomats are in contact with Czech law enforcement.
According to the Prague Emergency Medical Service, at least 11 people, including the shooter, have died as a result of the shooting. There are also reports of 25 wounded individuals.
