President Vladimir Putin claimed that Russia allegedly has “never had, does not have, and will not have any desire to attack anyone,” according to Russian media.

The Kremlin leader made the statement during a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. Putin issued a series of absurd remarks about a “peaceful” Russia.

“Anyone with common sense perfectly understands that Russia is not going to attack anyone,” the Russian President emphasized.

Putin also claimed that the war’s cause is that “Moscow was forced to protect people who tie their fate to Russia.”

“Russia has never opposed Ukraine’s membership in the EU, while NATO is another matter,” the Russian President added.

According to the latest information from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, as of February 21, 2025, from February 24, 2022, to December 31, 2024, Ukraine recorded over 12,654 civilian deaths and more than 29,392 injuries, due to Russian military aggression.

For example, in July 2025, the number of civilian casualties in Ukraine reached a three-year high. Nearly 300 people were killed in a single month.

In addition, systematic Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure began on October 10, 2022. This was the first large-scale missile attack targeting the country’s energy system.
