Hungary's Orbán calls Russia weak for war against NATO

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that the war in Ukraine will not escalate into a global conflict because Russia is too weak, according to Telex.
"The Russians are too weak for that. They can't even defeat Ukraine, so they can't really attack NATO," Orbán said, adding that he is not afraid of the conflict spreading to the world stage.
Orbán believes that first there should be a ceasefire, and only then a peace agreement, but not between Ukraine and Russia, but between the United States and Russia.
He also reiterated that Ukraine is not ready to join NATO or the EU, because, in his words, it is not in the interests of the European Union, and Hungary in particular.
Orbán emphasized that Europe must be strong because Russians understand only the language of force. He added that Vladimir Putin needs to be negotiated with and said he would be happy to receive him in Budapest.
"If Putin wants to come to Hungary, we will welcome him with open arms," Orbán said.
Speaking about Donald Trump, he noted that Trump is not the messiah, but it will be possible to reach an agreement with him, although it will be difficult.
Orbán's position on Russia's war against Ukraine
The Hungarian prime minister believes that the war in Ukraine should be stopped as soon as possible. He is in favor of a truce and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, as he is convinced that further fighting will only bring more victims.
Orbán criticizes arms sales to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia, saying that it harms the European economy, including Hungary's. He does not support the EU's tough stance on Russia and often avoids openly criticizing it.
The head of the Hungarian government is also actively convincing his population that Ukraine's accession to the EU will destroy the Hungarian economy.
Recently, he explicitly stated that he would do everything possible to block Ukraine's accession to the European Union, explaining that he was protecting Hungary's national interests.
