The Hungarian parliament is set to vote on the ratification of Sweden's NATO membership on February 26, according to Reuters.
Last Friday, Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson visited Hungary, where the countries signed a defense supply agreement.
It is expected that Hungary could approve Sweden's NATO membership as early as today.
Issues surrounding Sweden's NATO accession
Sweden applied for NATO membership in 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Türkiye and Hungary were initially opposed to this decision, with Türkiye eventually giving its consent.
Recently, it has been revealed that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has approved an agreement with Stockholm in the defense sphere to facilitate Sweden's NATO accession.
