Hungary and Slovakia have resumed receiving Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline after a pause caused by a Ukrainian attack, said Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Saková and Hungarian oil company MOL, Reuters reported.

MOL, which operates refineries in Hungary and Slovakia, announced the arrival of Russian oil in both countries but did not disclose details.

For her part, Saková confirmed that Slovakia had resumed importing Russian oil.

"I hope the operations will remain stable and there will be no more attacks on energy infrastructure," she added.

Strikes on Druzhba

In recent times Ukrainian defenders have repeatedly attacked the Druzhba pipeline infrastructure on Russian territory. As a result of such strikes, the supply of Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia was suspended.

Against this backdrop, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó began threatening that if the strikes continue, Hungary will stop exporting electricity to Ukraine.

Also today, August 28, the Hungarian authorities announced that Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Madyar Brovdi was banned from entering Hungary and Schengen countries.

In response, the Ukrainian soldier noted that Hungarian money paid for Russian oil is then used to produce drones and missiles with which the aggressor country strikes peaceful Ukrainian cities.
